Get Away Villas - Rental Policies
Arrivals There is one complimentary arrival that brings the arriving guests to the car rental to pick up their reserved car and then escorts the party to their villa. NOTE: Arrivals after 6:00pm will incur a $60.00 charge (Monday-Saturday) and $75.00 charge (Sunday); which is payable to the greeter on arrival.
Cable Television Each house has expanded cable, a few villas offer premium channels. Occasionally there is a problem with the cable television service. No one has any control over the cable service and repairs are currently taking between eight and ten days to complete.
Cancellation Policy - No deposits will be refunded unless a replacement rental is obtained. Should you be forced to cancel for ANY reason and a replacement rental is obtained, your deposit will be refunded, less 30% of the complete rental rate. No monies will be refunded unless a replacement rental is obtained.
Capacity Of Villa - Total guests permitted in the villa anytime are restricted to the number of guests who have scheduled and paid. Should a group be misrepresented, they must pay for the extra persons immediately or vacate the villa without a refund. Infants sleeping in a crib are not included in the total headcount.
Construction Noise - The St. John economy is thriving. Construction is every-where, even next door to some of our villas. Work begins at 7:00 a.m. and stops at 3:30 p.m. week days. We do appreciate your understanding in situations where construction exists.
Check-In - 2 PM is the earliest allowed check-in time. This allows the housekeepers to complete their cleaning duties.
Check-Out - 10 AM is the required check-out time. If there are guests arriving that day the housekeeper will be there at 9 AM to begin cleaning. If there is no arrival it may be possible to extend this time on a case by case basis. If no unless previous arrangements have been made there will be an assessment of $100 per hour or any part thereof for time in the house after the 10:00am check out. These funds will be deducted from the security deposit.
Drugs and Hazardous Materials - Guests and members of their party shall not use or permit to be brought into the villa any illegal or hazardous substances.
Gatherings - No groups larger than those renting a house are allowed in our villas without written permission. Additional fees may apply.
House Keeping Service Your rental villa is thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. Additional cleanings may be purchased at $20 per hour with a 3 hour per-day minimum.
Hurricanes - The property management of Get Away villas strongly suggests Travel Insurance during hurricane season as there are no refunds should you not be able to arrive or stay on island due to a hurricane situation.
Linens Your villa has all required linens, bed covers, bath towels, and beach towels.
Maximum Occupancy - Rates are based on double occupancy per bedroom. There will be an extra charge for any and all additional guests using this villa not listed on the contract. Also note, some homeowner associations do not allow more guests than the house is designed to sleep and may be subject to a fine, which the guest will pay in the event they do not receive written permission from the Manager. Some villas will not allow all bedrooms to be opened if not under the same roof or with additional cottages/suites; you will get to choose your bedroom on arrival.
Meetings - No meetings or groups larger than those renting a house are allowed in our villas without written permission. Additional fees may apply.
Office Hours The Reservation line is always available - if we can not answer, please leave your message and we will return the call. Upon full payment a confirmation is issued which has an on-island emergency number available for guests.
Owners Closet - Many owners have personal items in locked areas or closets. Please do not tamper with these areas.
Passports - Starting December 31st, 2005 the U.S. Customs service will require a passport or "other secure document" to reenter the United States from the U.S. Virgin Islands
Pets Pets are not allowed in any of the villas.
Property - All villas are privately owned. The Owner and Property Manager reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at their complete discretion. The Owner and Property Manager will not be responsible for accident, injury or for the loss of money, jewelry or valuables of any kind. The property will not be rented to anyone under 25 years of age unless part of or guest of a family group.
Rates, Printing or Internet Errors and Omissions -The information about the rental villas offered is as complete as we can make. We are not responsible for any changes the villa owner may have made to their property at the time of printing or publication. RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
Rental Car - We require all guests who rent a villa to reserve and rent a jeep. Many of our villas are not accessible by taxi and there is no convenient way to arrange for taxis early or late. For groups of six or more we strongly recommend at least two rental cars. We request that if you want to avoid excessive delays after arriving in St. John you reserve your vehicle through the Jeep Reservation Page for these Get Away villas .
Reservations 50% of the full rental amount, is required to make a reservation. The balance is due 60 days before the rental date. If the reservation is made less than sixty days before the reservation date the entire amount is due and payable. No reservation is confirmed until you have returned a signed reservation form and deposit and received a confirming paperwork.
Room Tax Each rental is subject to a U.S. V.I. room tax that is currently 8%.
Security
Deposit Property Management for Get away villas requires a $500 refundable Security Deposit
for all reservations. This is returned approximately the 15th of the following
month after your have
vacated. If damage occurs during your stay, please let us know immediately
Coverage
does not apply to theft or damage of any property owned by or brought onto the
premises by a guest. In cases of abuse and malicious damage to rental property
the guest will reimburse Agent and/or Owner the amount of all damage including
attorney's fees.
Service/Repair If the villa or any of its systems or amenities require service or repair the guest will agree to make the villa or room available for the service technician.
Smoking There is no smoking allowed within any of the villas.
Telephones - All villas have phones for your convenience. You can only make local calls. If you need to make a long distance call, you can call collect, use a credit card, or use a calling card. Occasionally the telephone service fails. No one has any control over the telephone repair service and Innovative Telephone Company currently has a backlog of eight to ten days for repair service.
